Broken-Chapter 5: Flipped
I fell asleep in Jonah’s arms. He never left my side. The only time he did was because the doctor had to run a few tests. Then again when the police came. I finally did it. I reported Micah. He’s probably going to jail. I don’t know all of the details. I don’t want to know. I just want to get rid of him.
Already I could feel myself getting just a bit stronger. Physically, I mean. The medicine is helping just a bit. Jonah has been a big help too. He makes sure I eat and take my medicine. When I’m not, we’re spending time just catching up with each other.
He’s the captain of the lacrosse team now although he’s just a sophomore. That’s great! Jonah is the first sophomore to get the title of captain in all of the school’s history. He’s also doing good in school. No straight A’s, but a few A’s and B’s here and there. He’s still with Ophelia. They’ve been together for about three years now. Same as me and Micah. Not anymore anyway. His life is pretty good, but that still doesn’t explain his emotionless eyes or the darks circles.
I decided to ask him about it. He’s just like me. Only he wasn’t held captive. He was pushed over the edge. His parents want a perfect son. He’s not perfect. He’s broken. Just like me.
